Easter is less than a week away, so I figured I’d finally share some of the shots with our two bunny friends (scroll down)! They’re the cutest, sweetest little fur balls. And while we’re on the subject, I thought I’d also share a post I shared on Facebook before ‘bunny and chick season’:
“Spring means bunny and chick season in the photography world. When done thoughtfully and SAFELY, these pictures are wonderful, but unfortunately that’s not often the case. Thought I’d share this picture with a behind-the-scenes peek to show you how a bunny picture is safely achieved with a baby. In addition to the issue of safety, there’s concern for these animals. Some photographers look to ‘rent’ animals for these shoots, without any knowledge of where they’re really coming from, how to handle them safely, or what they’re going to do with them after the shoot. As a hobby farmer, I know how stressful this can be on an animal, so the idea of using only two chicks or a single bunny for hours and hours of shooting mini sessions with different children breaks my heart. We have two super sweet and friendly bunnies we play with and handle every day, but many of these bunnies (and NEWBORN chicks) aren’t used to that much…’excitement.’ Sorry for the rant, but please be careful and thoughtful if you’re in pursuit of these types of photos. Again, I personally believed they can be achieved, but the safety of the little ones and the animals should come first.”
