Little Miss Ava will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only were her parents my first official session as a photographer when I captured their maternity pics, I also had the immense pleasure of photographing her as a newborn and at 3 months old. More importantly than all that, this little girl is just an absolute sweetheart. She was so relaxed as a newborn, happy as could be at 3 months and completely mild-mannered yet super fun and adorable at one year. She’s simply an amazing little baby! The fact that she also has an equally amazing and sweet family is just an added bonus.
Mom requested a simple color scheme of pink, lavender, gray and gold for the cake smash, which allowed me to have a lot of fun designing a pretty and fun, yet simple set. Mom got Ava’s beautiful smash cake from Sweet Indulgence, a favorite local RI bakery, and the adorable little ruffle bum outfit.
One of my favorite parts of the portrait session was getting to use the sash from mom’s maternity session that we also used in Ava’s newborn pics (that’s the purple flower belt she has on with the cream dress– a dress I brought to the session that was entirely too big for Ava, but too perfect not to use!).
Happy One Year, Ava! It’s amazing how much joy one little girl can bring to so many who love her in just a single year 🙂
